K-9 is a robot dog invented by a dude named Professor Marius and given to the Fourth Doctor because… I don’t know. Maybe he was delusional and thought the Doctor seemed like a responsible guy.
Though he’s been useful a time or two, K-9 is a far better concept that he is a character.
A robot dog that shoots laser beams?! That sounds incredible!
And I guess it is. Placed beside a loaf of bread, there’s no contest. But beside the TARDIS or even the sonic screwdriver…poochie doesn’t stand much of a chance.

erhaps if he had more of a personality. He was a bit too much like every other cliché robot to show up in sci-fi shows. Robotic, choppy voice. Unnecessarily pedantic vocabulary. Long explanations that would send almost anyone to that place of glazed over eyes and wandering thoughts.
Not all characters can be pure genius. There’s still potential for this pup if they decided to bring him back. But for now, the most fun you can have with K-9 is in the Lego Dimensions video game. Ride ‘em K-9!
