What’s with the price of some eBooks?!
Let me be clear, I’m not here to rant about the set price of any particular eBook. I’m looking to rant specifically about when you look at a book on Amazon and the paperback version costs LESS than the eBook!
Understand, once a book is read for print, there is almost no additional cost to create an electronic version. However, I do realize these eBabies can’t be given away for free. The economical impact would hurt the entire book industry. However, with zero materials cost, shouldn’t the eBook always be just a little cheaper than any other version? At least be a dollar or two. Come on big 5.
At the end of the day, I prefer print books anyway, so when the paperback is cheaper that makes my decision really easy. But it still makes me throw out a WTF. It just looks like an obvious rip-off attempt.
I know!! It’s ridiculous!! I’ve had so many people tell me to “just switch to ebooks because they’re cheaper”…… No! They aren’t! Yes there are some good deals sometimes, but in most cases, especially when it comes to new releases, they are only a couple dollars cheaper, if not more expensive! If I’m going to be spending the money anyways I would rather hold a physical copy ?
Totally agree. An eBook has to be significantly cheaper for me to go that route.
I agree. The authors and publishers need to make money, but the e-book needs to be significantly cheaper than the print.
