Thursday Quotables is hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies, and it’s a pretty fun way to geek out about books.
• Write a Thursday Quotables post on your blog. Try to pick something from whatever you’re reading now. And please be sure to include a link back to Bookshelf Fantasies in your post, if you’d be so kind!
• Add your Thursday Quotables post link in the comments section below… and I’d love it if you’d leave a comment about my quote for this week too.
• Be sure to visit other linked blogs to view their Thursday Quotables, and have fun!
I have two for you this week. One from the ebook that I’m reading, and one from the audiobook I’m listening to.
First up, a quote from the ebook…
“The city shined in the sunlight like a bunch of metallic boobs. What? I’m not a poet. They look like boobs.”

— Jazz Bashara, Artemis
This just flat out made me laugh. But at the same time, it gets the visual across pretty effectively.
And now, the audiobook…
“I’ve died. There is no more… me.”

– Bourbon, Metro 2033
This is one of the creepiest things I’ve heard in the book so far. The man who says it is walking around, talking normally, and then all of a sudden, he stops walking, goes silent until he starts with, “I’ve died…” Really creepy.
Here’s my quote, from Ray Bradbury
I like the quote from Artemis, and on the strength of that quote alone, it makes me interested in the book. Seems like it has a sense of humor I can appreciate.
Thanks for linking to this great idea.
Artemis is very funny throughout. And a good plot at the same time.
Haha ok, I can see what people are saying about Andy Weir’s humor now. Artemis and The Martian are already on my TBR list.
Artemis was pretty funny throughout the whole book!
Now I have to read Artemis ASAP!
You should! It was really good. Especially if you like the humour in that quote!
