This might be the end for me, I’m afraid.
There are very few free hours in my average day, once the kids are in bed and the housework taken care of. That means pedal to the metal all. the. time. No time off.
My last few weeks in October were much the same. I was finishing up an edit on a different manuscript. I literary finished it on Nov 1st. Normally, after something like that, I’d take a week off and kind of veg out. This time it was right for one project to another.
I was already a little behind this week, and then my wife and I took the night off to go see Justice League. It felt so good to have a night off, but now my deficit is even bigger. Over 7K, big!
Maybe this isn’t the end. ‘Win’ or ‘Lose’ this whole NaNo thing, I’m going to keep going for November, and beyond. Whatever I have by Dec 1st will serve as a great jumping off point for this book. Hell, it might even be half finished by then!
I’m glad you decided to change your mind about being done NaNo for the year! Just because you’re behind doesn’t mean that you’ve failed!! Keep going and remember that you said that you just finished a project on Nov 1 – that’s amazing!!
I was always going to keep going with this story. It’s just a matter of whether I’m going to reach 50,000 words by Nov 30th…
It’s good that you have changed your mind and will keep going on. Don’t feel guilty for taking a night off, you totally deserve and you still have time till Dec 1. Have faith and don’t give up.
Thank you! It was never really about giving up. More about potentially making peace with not getting to 50K within November…
Good lucking hitting your goal (there’s still lots of time!), but even if you don’t at least you wrote a lot this month.
Thanks. I’ll continue until the end of the book regardless. I just may not hit the 50K within November.
I’m with on that-whatever I get done will be that much more I have.
You’re better than most, I presume. Definitely better than me. I failed on Day 1 and gave up. (hangs head in shame)
I think you can do it, if you still want it! You have a great blog and seem very organized and determined! I think your blog reflects your strong writing skills and your organizational skills, and those are pretty strong!
You are SO sweet to say all of that. Thank you!
You are so welcome! <3
I’m glad you decided to keep going- I’ve realised I’m definitely going to fail at my nano goals, but it’s like you said, I’m gonna continue after, so it’s worth persevering with Nano
