This week’s Top 5 Tuesday asks about books that I’d save from a fire. Would it be cheating to say I’d just grab my phone or kindle? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, that would make for a boring post, so I suppose it’s time to talk books.
P.S. Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme run by Shanah the Bionic Bookworm. If you’ve never seen it before, this is obviously your first week on the internet. Welcome.
Ready Player One
Obviously.
Illuminae
I know it’s not the first book of its kind, but it’s still pretty ground-breaking. And someone has to keep a record of it so the world knows what happened to Kady and Ezra.
Red Rising Trilogy
Cheating? Probably. Let’s just pretend it’s a box set, and that taking a single book out of the box set would have taken more time than just grabbing the whole thing. Gory damn right.
On Writing
Hand downs the best book I’ve read on the craft of writing. We need to save as many copies as possible.
The Catcher in the Rye
This is a strange one. I’ve said many times that I don’t think I could ever convince someone to read this book. “Hey, yeah, so it’s about this kid who tries to act older than he is. He likes wearing a weird hat. Yeah. You should read it.” Once you’ve read it, you understand. Somehow.
Of course Ready Player One had to be on your list haha!
Good shout on Catcher In The Rye too!
All good choices, except Catcher in the Rye, I don’t think I’ve ever read it😐
Ready Player One should definitely be saved from all fires!
I absolutely agree with your whole list!! Of course Ready Player One – Obviously!! lol I can’t wait to continue with the Red Rising Trilogy!!!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂
This is basically my TBR list…! hahah I just bought the first of the Red Rising Trilogy, I can’t wait to start it!!
It’s SO good! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
Red Rising Trilogy for sure since I haven’t read it yet but am dying to 😉
Hahaha. My initial reaction as well was, I’ll just grab my kindle!
You’ve been very disciplined Joe! I could not stop at 5 😉
I have only read Ready Player One and Catcher in the Rye so I can’t comment on your choices as a whole but I like those two!
Red Rising and Illuminae and MUST READS! On Writing I would only recommend to aspiring writers, although the first half is more of a Stephen King bio, so that part is interesting to everyone.
Still gotta read Ready Player One. I’ve managed to avoid all spoilers for it – I literally have no idea what it’s about 😛
