First Impression Friday | Blown by Mark Haskell Smith

Welcome to another First Impression Friday. In case this is your first time, here’s the rundown:

• Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.
• Did you think you’d love and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right?
• Link back to Storeys of Stories so I can enjoy reading all the First Impression Fridays out there!

Enough about rules! Let’s talk about Blown by Mark Haskell Smith!

This is really, REALLY a first impression, because I’ve barely started this book. Like, I’ve only read the first scene.

But that’s okay. So far, it’s a nice easy pace. The writing is smooth and effortless. Casual, too. It’s written in 3rd person, but still feels heavily flavoured by our MC.

I don’t really know what’s going on yet, but there are lots of tidbits being thrown out that are intriguing me into asking myself lots of questions.

My prediction: 3.5 stars. Not that I have any issues with it so far, but I just don’t feel like I’m going to be blown away.

Fun fact about this post: GET IT?! BLOWN AWAY??
