This version of TBR Thursday was created by Lia @ Lost in a Story. It’s a great way to clean up your TBR list, and possibly re-ignite the excitement for some of those books you haven’t thought of for quite some time.
HOW IT WORKS
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Brave Men Run by Matthew Wayne Selznick This ended up on my TBR after I listened to a podcast that featured Selznick. It features superheroes, and is set in the 80s. I love superheroes, and I was born in the 80s. This seems like a perfect fit. However, the synopsis just doesn’t grab me. I’m tempted to keep it, but I have a feeling it’ll just sit on my list for years to come. Stay or Go? It goes. |

And the award for longest book title goes to… I found a copy of this at a used book sale for $1 a little while back. That’s not the only reason, but it’s the biggest deciding factor. Stay or Go? It stays. |

I have no idea how this book got onto my TBR. Reading the synopsis, it doesn’t sound like anything I’ve been into at any time I can remember. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t sound horrible, just not for me. Stay or Go? Bye, bye. |

Can I just take a second to say I hate this cover? I don’t know what it is about the cover, but I just don’t like it. The premise is quite cool The premise is quite cool, though. Like the Lord of the Flies meets The Leftovers. Stay of Go? Despite the cover, it can stay. |

The fact that I’ve never read a book by a legendary author like Pratchett eats at me. It’s one of those things that I’ve been meaning to do approximately… forever. Stay or Go? All the Pratchett on my list stays. |

The 100 year old man was funny. Like really funny! It’s one of those books with absolutely outlandish situations that makes you say in your head “of course that happens”….. but it works. And the characters are great!
Good to know! It’s one of those books that’s always been recommended to me, and even though I have a copy, I don’t think I ever read the synopsis…
