March Wrap-Up

Welcome to my first ever Monthly Wrap-Up!

I’ve always looked at these monthly wrap-up posts and thought, “that’s for people who get a lot done in a month. Not for me.” But… I kind of did get a lot done in March. More than I usually do, at least.

Beyond the reading, there’s also the whole full-time job thing, husband and father duties, and practicing to be in a community play! No wonder I’m so tired all the time!

Books I read this month: 7! (I’m not completely sure, but I think that’s probably a record for me!)

Good Guys by Steven Brust

ARC
3.5/5

I enjoyed it, though it didn’t blow me away. (full review here)

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

Audiobook
4/5

The second of the Raven Cycle, and so far I’m really enjoying the series as a whole!

Dayfall by Michael David Ares

ARC
2/5

Unfortunately, this one missed for me. (full review here)

Room by Emma Donaghue

Audiobook
4.5/5

Loved it, even though I’m not sure it’s really ‘my kind of book’. I don’t even know if I have a ‘kind of book’ but this was outside of what I’ve been reading recently. (full review here)

Find You in the Dark by Nathan Ripley

eARC
3.5/5

Another one that I enjoyed, but wasn’t blown away by. (full review here)

Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury

Audiobook
4/5

I haven’t read Ray Bradbury since high school. I really liked this. (review to come)

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Audiobook Re-Read
5/5

Only confirmed its place as one of my all-time favs.

Some of my favourite March posts:

Unhaul posts always inspire me, mainly because I have trouble getting rid of books. I found Sophie’s unhaul post especially interesting because of his minimalist and organized her book shelf is.

This post from pages unbound made me think a lot about why I’m keeping the books I’m keeping. Then it made me think about what to do with books that I decide to get rid of (if I ever do!) It even made me think about building my own Little Free Library.

Emily @ Book Reviews for Bookish People has a great list of literary narrators she hated. While I don’t hate all the types she listed, it’s a very entertaining list to read.

Rhea @ Bookchanted published a very thoughtful post on blogging results & stats and why they should or shouldn’t matter.

So there it is! I can only hope that April is just as productive. What do you get up to March?

Fun fact about this post: I may or may not end up wearing a dress in the mentioned community play.
