Welcome to another First Impression Friday. In case this is your first time, here’s the rundown:
• Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.
• Did you think you’d love and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right?
• Link back to Storeys of Stories so I can enjoy reading all the First Impression Fridays out there!
People have been threatening to physically harm me when they hear I haven’t read The Martian by Andy Weir.
I saw the movie (and loved it) and I’ve read Artemis (and loved it) so I guess it’s about time.
30-40 pages in, I’m loving it so far. Mark Watney’s humour and attitude makes me feel like Jazz Bashara (from Artemis) has a older brother. He’s a little more mature (but only a little) and I little more science-y, but you can tell they’re family.
I’m predicting an easy 4-star with a good chance of a 5-star.
Aww I loved The Egg! The Martian was 5 stars for me, it was better than Artemis, I think.
I like Andy’s writing a lot! I read The Martian before it was a best seller, when it was a self-published novel. I even exchanged emails with him, and read some of his unpublished work. Great writer and a very cool dude. 🙂
What a cool experience! Not many people can say that.
I would have guessed that I had never read anything by Andy Weir but I followed your link to The Egg and it turns out I did read that in High School!
I am glad you are liking the Martian so far!
You haven’t read the Martian yet?????? I’m sure you’ll love it!!
I haven’t read but I loved the film!
I have seen the movie but haven’t read the book so far Joe! Confession: books about spaceship and living like an astronaut make me feel claustrophobic!
