First Impression Friday | Neanderthal Opens the Door to the Universe by Preston Norton

Welcome to another First Impression Friday. In case this is your first time, here’s the rundown:

• Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.
• Did you think you’d love and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right?
• Link back to Storeys of Stories so I can enjoy reading all the First Impression Fridays out there!

Enough about rules! Let’s talk about Neanderthal Opens the Door to the Universe by Preston Norton!

I ALREADY LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!

Cliff, aka Neanderthal, is like my spirit animal! I can totally picture sitting down with this dude for a marathon session of sci-fi movies and snack food. We’d make fun of things we find stupid and fanboy over the things that are awesome.

Told 1st person, by Neanderthal himself, this book is full of sarcasm, and pop culture references, and rank bitterness. I know that might turn some people away from it, but not me. I love a bitter, sarcastic main character. They’re more relatable. Which says a lot about me, I know.

My prediction: 5 stars, easy

Fun fact about this post: When I requested this book from NetGalley, I only kind of wanted to read it. SO glad I did!
